Rogers First Step Event June 5
Rogers First Step Event.
Director Carolyn Knowles, Mayor Richard Norcross, participants, Instructor Peter Simko, Director Mary Parsons, President Andrew Kokelj
Alliston Tennis Club was the first club to run the program in Canada this June.
We had both sessions filled with 20 participants along with 11 on the waitlist
Mayor Richard Norcross was glad to see and experience the joy of the young folks playing and learning on the courts. Only 2 had played previously.
Mayor Norcross presented us with a certificate in recognition of our participation in June as Tennis Month in Canada.
He stayed and picked up some tips from Instructor Peter Simko's lessons before distributing plenty of prizes to all the joyful participants.
Thank you Mayor Norcross, Instructor Peter Simko, founding club president Carolyn Knowles, Director Mary Parsons, Orland Kirkness, Chris Belcher and the players and their parents for fun day on the courts. Your exuberance is contagious!
Special thanks to Rogers First Step and Tennis Canada to allow the Alliston Tennis Club to sponsor this fine community event.
See you on the courts!
