Adult Doubles Tournament July 2026

     Mens Champs Lego and Ryan ATC Doubles Tournament ran very well. All participants received a tennis keychain at check-in (donated by Tournament Director Mary Parsons). Andrew Kokelj very kindly took pictures, group and action shots. Thanks to Andrew Kokelj and Roger Hayward for cleaning the courts prior to the tournament. The games went very smoothly with no controversy and were competitive.  The participants competed with a great deal of sportsmanship and seemed to enjoy themselves.   Tournament Reminder: Mary Parsons will be organizing an Adult Doubles Tournament and a Junior Tournament Adult Doubles July 11 and Juniors (U18) July 25  1:00-6:00 p.m.  $15 per entrant. Rogers First Step Event.  Director Carolyn Knowles, Mayor Richard Norcross, participants, Instructor Peter Simko, Director Mary Parsons, President Andrew Kokelj Alliston Tennis Club was the first club to run the program in Canada this June. We had both sessions filled with 20 participants along with 11 on the waitlist  Mayor Richard Norcross was glad to see and experience the joy of the young folks playing and learning on the courts. Only 2 had played previously. Mayor Norcross presented us with a certificate  in recognition of our participation in June as Tennis Month in Canada. He stayed and picked up some tips from Instructor Peter Simko's lessons before distributing plenty of prizes to all the joyful participants. Thank you Mayor Norcross, Instructor Peter Simko, founding club president Carolyn Knowles, Director Mary Parsons, Orland Kirkness, Chris Belcher and the players and their parents for fun day on the courts.  June is Tennis Month in Canada Come and say hello to Richard Norcross, Mayor of New Tecumseth who will be attending between 5:30 -6:15 pm  to give out prizes to the participants Welcome to the   Alliston Tennis Club  Rogers First Set Try Day ! This event is designed as a fun and engaging introduction to tennis for new players and those with little experience. Participants will get a chance to learn the basics of tennis, including serving, rallying, and scoring, in a supportive and friendly environment. Event Highlights : Hands-on introduction to tennis fundamentals. Play-based activities to build confidence and excitement. Focus on learning to Serve, Rally, and Score. No previous experience is required, and all equipment will be provided as needed.  This is a perfect opportunity for children to discover the joy of tennis and start their journey in the sport. We wish to salute all of our valued club volunteers without whom we would not be able to enjoy the wonderful time on our courts  Thank you to all for your tireless dedication and effort. Windscreens are up! Well done Lego, MIke, and Chris. Registration and key pickup on Tuesday was windy but did not prevent Mary, Barbara, Gary and Jennifer doing a fine job at the courts. To avoid delay, please complete your online registration before attending along with bringing in your old key and picking up your new 2026 key on Saturday morning between 9:30-11:30 am. OTA Smash Cage at Alliston Winterfest February 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m

  The Ontario Tennis Association Smash Cage is coming to WinterFest 2026 will be taking place in Alliston at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre on Saturday, Feb. 7, and will offer a day of fun and activities for all ages. Measure your tennis serve speed and get a chance to win prizes. Alliston Tennis Club members along with our excellent instructor Peter Simko will be there to offer tips and info on your tennis stroke. I  Come for a day packed with indoor and outdoor FUN for the whole family! There will be free ice skating indoors from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Horse drawn wagon rides with some magnificent strong horses will take visitors around the Rec Centre. You can also take a ride on the Winterfest train. A magic show with WonderPhil Magic will take place at 12:00 noon. and 2:00 p.m You can visit with some alpacas as Maple Trail Farm returns with Wanda and Cetina. Windscreens will be up in the next few weeks.   ATC online membership application   2025 Online Membership Registration Court Key Pickup and Registration Payment  Tuesday April 22, 2025 between 5:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday April 26, 2025 between 9:30 - 12 Noon Please bring in previous years keys.  Location: Tennis Courts - G.A. Athletic Wright Field 251 Albert St East, Alliston, ON Park along  Parsons Road beside the field and walk to the court.  Most regular programs will begin in May once the weather permits and courts are available for play.

50th Anniversary

  Greetings On behalf of the Alliston Tennis Club, I would like to invite you to our 50th anniversary cake cutting celebration on June 21 at 6:30 pm at the courts. The founding President of the club, Carolyn Knowles is currently our club treasurer and has been a proud supporter of tennis throughout the years. The Ontario Tennis Association National Bank Roadshow will be providing a free doubles play clinic starting at 7 pm along with prizes and giveaways. You are most welcome to join us. Good Afternoon All, Thank you to those who came out last night ... was a fun hit and great to meet you all! After some conversation with the group and feedback from the spreadsheet entries, we are going to change the doubles league night to a more social format. Please see below and looking forward to seeing everyone  next Thursday at 7 pm ! Time:  Thursday Nights - 7 pm - 9 pm Format: Drop in social doubles play  Organize into groups and play 3 games Winning team moves up to next court (move to the left) Winning team on the far left court (by the gate) stay on that court Losing team moves right Losing team on far right court (closest to light switch box) move off court and wait for next match to rejoin (assuming there are more players than courts available) Both winning and losing teams must split up for next match Warm up for 15 minutes, any extra players will need to wait to sub on If there are uneven numbers, then losing team would only sub 1 player Let me know if you...
