Tennis Etiquette

Rules of protocol and common courtesy have been created over the years. All tennis players should be aware of them and abide by them. Please keep the following in mind. 1. Talk quietly when standing near tennis courts that are in use. 2. Never stand between the courts when play is in progress. 3. Wait until a point is over before walking behind a court where a game is in progress. 4. Always have a can of balls with you; everyone should take turns supplying tennis balls that are not old or worn. 5. Never interfere with another court when play is in progress: - to retrieve a ball from another court or to return a ball to another court, wait until the point in progress on that court is completed - balls can also be returned carefully at the back of the court along the fence 6. Hi Fellow Members, Thanks to all who have taken the time to register early for the upcoming tennis season. Special welcome to the 56 new members who have already joined our club so far. Please feel free to ask any questions or make suggestions. I will do my best to find the answer to any concerns. Based on the responses from the members, a court schedule has been created. Please keep in mind that because of the varying playing abilities of tennis players, it can be difficult to organize playing times for everyone. All members are asked to assist each other to sort out players that are best suited to play together. If you prefer to play singles at other times, please let me know if you wish me to send out your request in an email to the membership. Evenings after 8:00 pm offer a great opportunity for members to play under the lights in ideal conditions, often cooler and without a breeze. Reminder that once lights are turned on, they are programmed to come off at 11 pm....
